Take Advantage of Your Skills

We’ve talked before about the benefits of creating a social media and search engine optimization strategy that plays to your strengths. I really do feel that your social media and SEO strategy should reflect you and your goals. Sometimes your goals can change. But it’s always important to check in with yourself and think about where exactly your skill set lies. If you occasionally take stock of where you are, where you’ve been, what your goals are and what you’re actually accomplishing, it can help you tweak your strategy and improve it. If you remain static, you’ll never improve, and you’re more likely to become less effective over time.
It’s also a good idea to take stock with a friend or partner that you trust and ask them where they think your strengths lie, and whether or not they feel like you are effectively communicating your skill set. It’s important to remember that while what you intend may be one thing, what other people perceive can be an entirely different thing. So feel free to ask a lot of questions of people, and offer the same consideration to them in return.
The other thing you should remember is that you are constantly learning. Search engine optimization, social media and online marketing is a constantly changing field. If you’re not taking advantage of opportunities to learn new things, you’re going to be left behind. Consider attending a seminar or networking event once in a while, or watch video tutorials, as well as reading professional blogs. If you devote a small amount of time each week to staying on top of your game and learning about technique and strategy, you can really hone your professional skills and remain competitive.
If you commit to taking a small amount of time each day to focusing on your skills and developing them, you can really take advantage of your skills and succeed.
