Do your online strategies match your offline goals?

It’s important to make sure that what you are doing online lines up with what your goals are for your business, offline. You need to tailor your social media strategy to the needs of your business. Social media is a very diverse thing, and it can be really easy to think you have to do everything. If you try to do everything, however, you will probably not do anything particularly well or particularly effectively.
The important thing is to focus on what aspects of social media will dovetail best with your offline goals. If your business is very visual, sites like Pinterest and Flickr will be important. If you have a lot of instructional information and how-to advice to give, you will want to keep a blog and update it two or three times a week.
It’s always a great idea to maintain a Business Page on Facebook and you can even use custom html to post special coupons or offers that are exclusive for your fans. It’s also a great place to keep all of the vital information about your business, things like hours and location, in one easy place that your customers can find and understand.
